After twenty years crafting web content management solutions across platforms like Cascade CMS, ProcessWire, and WordPress, I'm building the CMS I always wanted to use.
I also want to create a curriculum that uses the system's design and implementation to teach students to think like engineers—not just vibe code.
The product becomes the classroom, and the classroom improves the product, creating a positive feedback loop.
After years of working with CMS platforms like Cascade CMS, ProcessWire, and WordPress, one thought never left me:
"There has to be a better way."
Before returning to Hannon Hill in 2017, I worked with a startup that still manages the Mayor of Atlanta's website. That experience stayed with me, and years later it evolved into a question I couldn't shake:
"If I were designing a CMS from scratch today, what would it look like?"
I decided to find out.
At the same time, I committed to embracing a fully agentic approach to software development, pushing AI-assisted coding as far as I could while remaining responsible for the architecture, design, and final decisions.
The result is more than just another CMS—it's an experiment in rethinking how modern content management software can be designed, built, and taught.
A larger mission had also crystallized.
What if students in Atlanta Public Schools learned software engineering by helping build the digital infrastructure of their own city?
Instead of solving abstract programming exercises, they would tackle real-world problems, contribute to meaningful projects, and learn to think like engineers—not just write (or vibe) code.
Instead of toy projects, students would gain experience contributing to real software while learning the principles behind modern engineering.
Build better software.
Teach better engineers.
Strengthen the community.
